Eastern Sun Academy is committed to creating a learning community wherein students are able to access their inherent Intelligence, Compassion and Confidence.  Our educational philosophy has its' foundation in Contemplative Education and the Three Journeys Model of Contemplative Education as developed by the school's founders, and is anchored in the Three Journeys Model of Human Development.  This model encompasses our socio-emotional and academic curriculum, supported by the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme. 

Through our Skill Development units in math, language and literacy, students build a solid base in the fundamentals. Through the Programme of Inquiry, students are encouraged to expand their understanding of our world and global community, engage with the process of learning, and explore their interests through investigation and experiences.  Our small class sizes offer the opportunity for individual attention and for each student to be seen for who they are and their unique talents, interests, and needs.  Our experienced, creative and passionate teachers are deeply committed to the students they serve, and to the mission and principles of our educational model.

CLASS CONFIGURATIONS

In order to honor the depth of our academic model, as well as the contemplative nature of our educational experience, Eastern Sun Academy will maintain a low teacher-student ratio.

Grades are combined at Eastern Sun Academy to provide students with space to be where they are on their developmental, academic, and social journey. Mixed age classes allow for deepened learning.

HOURS

Classroom hours will be the same for K-5th grades:
MONDAY - THURSDAY: 8:30AM TO 3:35PM
FRIDAY: 8:30AM TO 12:30PM
